Monday morning I was in the Dallas Love Field airport at the crack of dawn trying to fly back to get to classes on time. Traveling is always a bit of a hastle and somewhat stressful, therefore, when others stressful factors enter the picture it seems to intensify the situation. Unfortunately I was flying stand-by (or space availabe) due to my mom being a Southwest flight attendant we get passes, however, if there is no space on the plane you must wait for the next one. This could potentially go on all day so you can understand why I would be a little frazzled since I was on a time schedule.
I finally get through security and down to my gate where you must also check-in. As I get to the counter the ticket agent was not only the rudest individual I havever met, it was almost like she knew she was being rude and just didn't care. First of all, she wouldn't answer any of my questions to do with the flight. She kept telling me to wait, then the phone would ring, then other travelers would come by. Naturally I was getting irritated, so I went up there and finally got somewhere with her but she was still very rude. Some people really have no business working with the public. To make a long story short, much to my disliking I didn't get on the plane and I missed my first two classes, and the ticket agent picking today to hate the world didn't help at all. My mom is considering writing her up so hopefully that helps!

The airport now days seems to be crazier than ever.
I hear you with the crazy travel. I have been flying a lot lately because I have had some cool business opportunities. I am also from Maine and I go home twice a year. I would be interested to know what you think of the Southwest boarding procedure. Southwest has always done things a little different from everyone else. What do you think of giving people letters and numbers to board in sequence and then being able to pick whatever seat is open? I personally am not very fond of the idea, however, some people like it. Curious to know what you think!
That is kind of funny and lame at the same time. I bet its pretty cool to have a flight attendent for a parent. you can probably go just about anywhere. You should take me somewhere. haha jk.
I have only been on a flown 2 times, but both of those times were horrible... I'm sorry to hear you missed 2 of your classes, but it's really cool that your mom works for SW airlines...
Wow, let me tell you about my brother's experience. He also worked for the airlines at DFW and received the same benefits. He decided to fly to Nigeria one day to visit the family which would have been pretty awesome but he never made it. He left the U.S. on standby flight but was stranded in London for four days. Luckily he took enough cash with him to make it through those days. On the fourth day he decided to return to the U.S. Everybody was expecting him in Nigeria too but we understood the situation.
I hate airports! They are way too chaotic!
I hate flying. I always just drive when I'm able.
